Once more Ely Community Lunches received a wonderfully generous response of donations and volunteers giving their time to make the annual Christmas Lunch happen.
A hundred and sixty people in Ely, Soham, Littleport and the surrounding villages were able to sit down at “The Almonary” or Ely Methodist Church or in their own home for lunch on Christmas Day.
Those who may have been alone or be without a special lunch, or get a present from Santa, were also able to have their meal from our Santa delivery team of volunteers.
We are grateful also for the many businesses and supermarkets in Ely that made contributions which enabled us to put on this feast.
Lastly to Gareth Holdsworth, and his team at Crucial Cuisine and all the drivers, waiters, “washer uppers” and entertainers that made the day once more run so smoothly we want to say a huge “Thank You”.
